Our Clinical Review Process
Health and Wellness information should come from clinicians who see patients. Before we publish an article, guide, or video, a licensed Alexander Medical provider reviews it for accuracy, clarity, and fit with current clinical practice.
How content is reviewed
- Drafting. A professional healthcare writer prepares the content from reputable sources, such as peer-reviewed studies, professional society guidelines, and public health agencies.
- Source check. We check every medical claim against its cited source. Statistics and study results are quoted accurately and are not overstated.
- Clinical review. A licensed provider at Alexander Medical reads the content for accuracy and completeness. The reviewer may edit it, ask for changes, or reject it.
- Plain-language edit. We check that patients can understand the content and that it doesn’t promise results.
- Publication. The page shows the reviewer’s name, credentials, and review date, with a link to their bio.
- Scheduled re-review. We do our best to re-review content at least every [12 / 24] months. We also re-review it sooner if guidelines or evidence change.
Who reviews our content
Content is reviewed by Alexander Medical providers within their scope of practice, for example:

- Robert Alexander, FNP-BC, ACNP-BC, nurse practitioner and founder (bio)
- Vivian Marcuzzo, PA-C, physician assistant (bio)
- Brittany Lamb, DNP, family nurse practitioner (bio)
Each reviewer is credited by name and credentials, with the date of their review.
What “medically reviewed” and “clinically reviewed” mean
- Medically reviewed: reviewed by a physician (MD or DO).
- Clinically reviewed: reviewed by a licensed clinician, such as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, within their scope of practice.
Updates and corrections
If a reviewer leaves Alexander Medical, we keep the original review date on the page. Another provider then re-reviews the content, and we update the credit. If you see an error, contact us at [email/phone]. We will correct it and note the date of the change.
What this content is not
Our content is educational. It is not a diagnosis or treatment plan, and it doesn’t replace a provider evaluation. Results vary.
Editorial independence
Advertisers or product manufacturers do not influence our content.
